Creative solutions for food loss at scale

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

It seems unconscionable that 40% of food in America, and 33% worldwide is wasted while 1 in 7 Americans--and global citizens alike--are hungry. The overall scale of this global challenge is staggering and will require a portfolio of solutions that are tailored to match the local conditions and type of food waste. However, our current knowledge of the quantity and composition of food waste flows is insufficient for designing and implementing targeted interventions to enable meaningful progress at scale. This panel will address the need for improved food loss and waste measurement and information systems to advance prevention, recovery, and recycling opportunities, using California and India as case examples for the discussion.
